Better get some grass growing on those banks... How deep is the pond? Future management plans for it? Looks good!

If I wanted it done right, I would talk to Greg about stocking.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I am working on fixing some runoff and drainage problems to clear up water issues before stocking any fish. I am trying to find out if is ok to go ahead and put some minnows in now why trying to clear up water.

Nice looking pond!!
I would get some minnows in there right away. The sooner you get them going, the better off you will be when you buy your fish. It might take awhile for the water to clear up, or it might never happen. My pond will clear up nicely in the summer, but right now it's all muddy loooking from the spring rains. I've been working on a pasture to catch and divert more water to it, which is just now starting to grow grass. Three years of moving dirt has kept my water dirty looking. In the meantime, I have all sorts of fish in there that friends and family have enjoyed catching. The fish don't mind so much what the water looks like, they grow big and fat anyway!!!

Definitely no reason not to stock fathead minnows and golden shiners if you like. Fatheads in particular can handle very turbid water conditions so they will do just fine. Put in 5 or 10 pounds and let them build their numbers while you work on the clarity issues.

Grass on the dam will not only help the water clear up but will extend the life of the dam. There are small pumps, about the size of a chain saw motor that are easy to move and can get a lot of water on new grass.

Charlie let us know if you want some fish. I just submitted bid for grass carp in north FLA. If that goes through I can see what it would be to get you fish if interested. Good luck.
