I have been looking at perch and walleye fry prices. They are comparable to fatheads so since I like both species instead of stocking fatheads for forage what would be wrong with stocking these fry? If I did that what are chances any would survive to be catchable sizes as a bonus? Pond size 1 plus acre with lots of cover. Was thinking about 1000 each.

What is your existing fish population?
FHM would spawn this year (given they survive long enough), hopefully resulting in a little more forage for your money. And I bet stocking 1000 @ little predators would result in a lot-more-than-you-want number of overcrowded adult predators down the road.

I have lmb, hbg, hsb, cc, yp, res. The last 4 were put in as 4 to 8 inch fish within the last 6 months. I overlooked that obvious point about the fhm. Still if some of the walleye and perch did survive I wouldnt mind the extra fillets or larger forage. If on the other hand it was too unlikely I would stick with fhm.
