I was going to stock adult Golden Shiners this winter with my LMB & HSB, but got to thinking ..Am I better off stocking the Golden Shiners now as fry before Anderson Minnow Farm closes? CNBG and FHM are all that have gone in so far. What do you all think??du

I'm pretty sure they have sold all their fry this year. I called about 6 weeks ago and ordered two boxes and the guy told me they were about to stop taking orders.
If you can still get them, it would probably be a good idea. I'm trying to raise mine in isolated environments to get them larger than the grain of salt they are when they arrived.

They are definitely out of fry for the year. Try stocking adults, if they have no predators, they should pull off at least a decent spawn this late spring and into the summer and should get you off to a good start. I saw using some shiners from my one pond this weekend I had caught for catfish bait. Many of them had eggs and were ripe, so they are either spawning or close to it here in VA.
