Some ramblings on aeration. If done properly aeration can be an incredible tool in a pond. IMHO if designed, implemented or run improperly an aeration system can do more damage than good. If it were me I'd contact several of the aeration companies that are on this site have have them design a system for you. Click on the Resources Guide tab under the "Main Menu" on the upper left. Good aeration systems use diffusers that are relatively maintenance free, weighted air hose will keep you from manually needing to weigh the hose down. The type of the diffuser will vary depending upon how close it is to the surface. An expert should help you design the system because they will calculate water turn over rate - this plays an important role in aeration systems. I don't know how much a system for your pond would cost but one of our resident experts could tell you and at least you would know that it would be a good system designed for your pond. And it doesn't cost you anything to ask.

We have had folks post on this site that had either a poorly designed or run system that caused themselves a fish kill. You don't want that.
