DU very very nice entrance, I fully agree with what you are saying. I had planned to add some very heavy cedar post approximately 2 or 3 thousand pounds to each end of the current supports and ancor them to the supports, but the Boss put her foot down and wants them installed at our home place that already has a rustic cedar fence. The gates end supports with the added concrete footings now far out weigh the gates and should do the job of taking the moments created by the gates out of the equation. I also ran a dead leg to counter act the moments when the gates are swung open. Besides I think I have the place sold so it looks like I want be finishing this project anyway. I have had a nipple for about a month now and I thank when they saw this erected it set the hook. Wish me luck I hope the new owner has to finish it. As I said I agree with you and will fwd the advice.
