They were stocked last spring. Prolly 1-2 inchers.
I've been seeing something hitting the top of the water the last couple of weeks, not unusual, my BGs do it during feeding but this was considerably bigger. Like somebody threw a housecat in the water. I finally got to see one... barely. Near the top of the water in a rocky area that I have at the bank. I could swear it was 8-10 inches?!?
What should I be expecting for growth? My year and a half old BGs are almost hand sized.

In a new pond with good forage, that kind of bass growth (up to 8" or so) is not unusual. Pretty neat isn't it.

I'm surprised you haven't hooked any while fishing for bluegill. I guess LMB are so popular partly because they grow so fast. You can look forward to some 12-14 inchers a year from now.

Uh oh, I was supposed to fishing for them already?
I've been waiting for the bream to get a little bigger than hand size and as for the bass... wow, guess them suckers been eatin'. It is neat to see how big they've gotten!

TennJeff, what part of Tenn are you in? I want to retire there, my family on my mom's side are from Dekalb, Wilson Counties, "Up on Dry Creek" and my Dad's side is from Blount County, Marysville, Alcoa, Severeville. I want to go and see the Hannah Montana movie just because it was filmed in Tennessee. Whenever I am there I feel like it is home and I belong there.

I stocked 2" LMB last July and caught 7-9" fish in October.

I'm about 20 miles east of Memphis. Most of Tennessee is a beautiful state, everything but the southwest corner . The areas you're considering are really nice, rolling hills and great views. Here, not so much. We've carved out a little island surrounded by ditches and trees, trying to keep out everything but sunshine .

Never been to Memphis, but if you get the chance go to Center Hill Lake/Dam, near Smithville, and take a trip through Dekalb County Backroads, what they call Dry Creek. Thriving communities there in the early 1900's, so cool...........Like Heaven. All relatives have passed on now, but I cherish those memories of the tin roofs, feather beds, pot belly stoves to heat the house, outhouses, picking up Indian Arrowheads after a field was plowed, old guys whittlin in Watertown, catching fireflies, even remember some kids caught a JuneBug and tied him to a string. All kids should be able to have memories. Smithville has a Jamboree on the 4th of July.
