I was wondering ..... i am new but should i buy Ray Scott's video? On my new pond in :muddy water central Oklahoma: should I put bentonite in it first ????? or aglime it first??

Do you have an existing pond with muddy water? Bentonnite is for
mixing with questionable water holding soils when the pond is being built. Ag lime can be mixed in at the same time. Have the soil checked for it's quality for holding water and the hardness and total alkalinity. Get with your local ag. agent.

There are areas along the Red River that are almost impossible to clear. Where are you figuring to dig? Are other ponds in the area muddy?
I have never seen Ray Scotts video.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I am In Oklahoma City and most ponds are muddy lots of wind here!!!! I am digging in Oklahoma City acutally in Cleveland County ??

Get the PERFECT POND book first. It will get you started.
The muddy water can be cleared up but it is like mowing the grass you may have to work on it more than once.

since I treated my new muddy pond with alum last spring, any muddiness due to heavy rain clears up quickly.
After 11 inches 2 wks ago, it was 4 ft visibility in a few days. Now, too clear. Need to fertilize. Last visit, too busy making a siphon and drawing down.
