would lawn chemicals used by such companys as TRU-GREEN contribute to a problem of excessive algae?
i have them stop well short of the pond for fear of this but really, when it rains enough, it all heads for the pond....thanks.
We have banned the use of phosphorus in our 550 home, 6 lake community after testing the water coming in through the storm drains. We suggest only slow release granular p-free fertilizer and are trying to get people to do four or less treatments, and a core areation so that the ground does not get hard and allow for run-off. This is a challenge. We are working with Scott's company and find them the best as their employees are certified, and come equipped with blowers, baffles and brooms. Our objective is less algal blooms, not heavy fertilizing for a more productive pond.
