camo, For it to be effective and NOT a total waste of money, It HAS to be dissolved first. You only pour DISSOLVED alum into the prop wash or through the sprayer. Alum is heavier than water so more needs to be applied over deeper water than shallow to attract all the suspended particles. The HYDRATED lime (50% of alum) can be spead dry through the prop wash or simply broadcast over the water.
How much alum did you get? If you can get a small boat, you can use my sprayer.
