They are OK to start off with. They are supposed to have worked out the bugs in the timer. They gave me a new one. I throws 3/16 inch well. I just got some 1/4 inch and am stringing a cable across part of the pond and will hang an omni directional that goes off at sunrise and 1 hr. prior to sunset.
The Remington cheap feeder is good for feeding bluegill several times a day, but you will need the solar panel as it uses up battery pretty quickly. I hung mine under a 5 gllon igloo cooler so the inside wouldnt sweat and mold the feed in the summer.
