Here is a link to Chain Pickerel information. http://myfwc.com/Fishing/Fishes/pickerels.html The world record is 9.3 pounds. The grow very slowly. I am sure you could find a much more efficient predator to meet your needs.

Pickerel will not eat larger bgill very well but they will enjoy and prefer the smaller bass.

masterbasser, some of this depends on whether you just like fishing for pickerel or whether you just want to use them as a tool. Can you explain your situation and goals more?
