I already use non lead sinkers. What's the big deal? It's not like you use a lot of them is it?
And yes birds that root around in the bottom ingest lead sinkers and lead shot. In the northeast a fair number of loons have been lead poisoned. I've had loons on my ponds passing through.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
