$1000 worth of forage per year plus pellets and aeration costs, whew, I thought only Texans did that! That much forage does make a strong case for a forage pond (was that a hint Bill?)
Other's much more knowledgeable than I will surely chime in. I've heard that walleye will do well on BG for forage but can't confirm the source and I'm curious if WE would be effective enough at controlling medium sized BG to help the large BG reach trophy status. WE grow pretty slow so stocking larger ones may be needed to keep those 2nd and 3rd year BG offspring in check. My guess is that HSB will be pretty well tuned into the pellets/shiners and fatheads and not so much BG and their mouths aren't big enough to put much pressure on medium BG. I think a 12" YP or 10" BG are very reasonable goals within a few years, especially in a new pond stocking situation.
