bobguillory Lunker B Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 37 Eunice, LA	I can clearly see that duckweed will be a problem in my lake. I cant seem to find a source for a quality/industrial type weed sprayer. One that can reach out to say 50 feet with a broad coverage. Is there such a thing? Dr. Bob Guillory (PS) When I finish figuring out how to decifer the instructions for posting pictures I will send you guys some cool pictures of my lake and structure. Sunil are you cold up there?

I attach the spray boom to the front of my boat. You can dial up the pressure and also use the included wand to spray 50' vertically. Runs about $350 on avareage. Most farm and home stores sell them as does the big box stores.

I can see that an investment is a good sprayer will be necessary to keep up with the duckweed however I will never eliminate it. Thanks again Bob Guillory

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color. Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done. When the water comes back they float up and start anew. Plants may overwinter as turions, or as seeds, sinking and resting at the bottom of the pond until they germinate. You have to kill the plants and seeds to get rid of them.

Dont know if there are fish in the swamp. ewest, Thanks for the encouragement. My lake is made from a swamp. Thats what happens when you fight mother nature. My lake is drained now but the ditches are full of duckweed. I plan to spray it to get ahead before refilling it. Do you all know if I can spray during the non proliferating stage (winter)? Bob
