What have you added to your pond life? Here is a picture of two green turtles from down South that we added (a couple of snappers came by themselves but we hope to catch and get those out as I know how big those critters get). We took a picture as when he hit the water; the temperature was so different from where he came, he was momentarily stunned. Needless to say, we let the second one adjust to the water first.

I need to get me a couple of those, we think some came on their own, but I still need to buy a pair of bullfrogs or some tadpole ones. Thank you, it was far from clear the first year--muddy waters. We put Aquashade and keep it darkish.

Hey MarkECIN
The only thing that I've added that "counts" would be the Crayfish I stocked to my main pond. I already have a pretty solid population of bullfrogs, toads, and leopard frogs too.
I will be putting in some Wood Duck boxes this year and already put up several Bluebird boxes and had a couple of nesting pairs last year, which is kinda a big deal out here - so I was pretty excited.
Your water looks awesome, btw. I have no idea what mine will end up looking like after aeration and my vegetation controls the runoff better - if I had half that clarity I'd be pleased!

The Wood Duck, Bluebird boxes will add a lot to the whole pond site. They are poping up everywhere.

I have 4 species of turtles, probably a half dozen species of frogs, 1 toad, 1 shrimp, probably 10 species of snakes, probably 4 or 5 of crawfish, and probably 10 species of birds that visit. One of my favorites is a pair of black bellied whistling ducks that visit occasionally. They're beautiful, and a missing link of sorts between ducks and geese.

We have two turtles at our pond but I didn't add them, they added themselves. Other than myself, I haven't added any bizarre creatures to our pond. Very cool looking turtle MarkECIN.

I did not add him, but I have a 10 foot alligator in my lake. First saw him last year and got a few game cam photos of him this past September. What makes it a little unusual is that my lake is in North Mississippi. We don't see many gators around hear.

MarkECIN, I know the turtle was supposed to be the star of that picture but in my opinion the water stole the stage. That is probably the most clear water I have ever seen. It is absolutely beautiful. Do you have any pictures of your pond? I would love to be able to see them. How do you get your water that clear? With water that clear you could practicaly go out and count your fish.

WOW...a JHAPis Beancountis. Endangered species, right? They are easily identified in a field encounter since the female of the species is the more colorful and dominant of the two.

haha, well this looks fun. I haven't added snapping turtles, they add themselves, but I do love their ornery personalities. Found this in my pond pics. Think it was added back in the day.

Man, I turn my back on you guys for just a couple of hours and out come the knives. WOW...a JHAPis Beancountis. Endangered species, right? They are easily identified in a field encounter since the female of the species is the more colorful and dominant of the two. It's hard to argue with that point. Aren't you supposed to be working on the slide show????

Beautiful place you have! Those are Lillies, yes?
Does anyone have any experience with the Wood Duck boxes and suggested placement in one's pond? I trust Pondboss more than random internet advice - FAR more.
