Green lights do attract fish in, but you have to consistently run it every night to truly get the full effect. If you have any shad in the lake, they will be swarming the light and most species of minnows are attracted as well. They swarm in to feed on all the zooplankton that is attracted to the light. With all the baitfish feeding in the area, it isn't long before the bass, crappie and others come in to feed on the baitfish!
