On the 2" siphon... Cold weather hit and the valve froze / burst stopping the siphon. I replaced the valve with a cap and tried to start it back up; but didn't get it going in the time I had available. Between then and next chance to work on it, I got to thinking that the cap would freeze too where water held in the y shaped piece. Therefore, I spun the pipe around that was in the water (ice helped) and connected it directly to other pipe (without y shaped piece, valves, or caps) so it was one continuous string of 2" pipe. I then bought one of those rubber and metal drain clear things that screw on to the end of your garden hose and swells up with water before letting it pass through for $12.98 or so. I screwed it on to a water hose, stuck it in the downhill end, and let it run until pipe was full and water going into pond. I then turned off water hydrant, the drain thing shrunk back down and was pushed out of the pipe byt the flowing water - with the siphon running well. The weather now gotten even colder; but the siphon seems to doing fine. It actually worked pretty slick.
