A lot of conferences I attend have several different activities planned at the same time and people can choose to do what interests them most. There could be a golf tournament at the same time as the fishing tournament as well as some kind of shooting activity. It would be a good idea to schedule the activities the day before the actual "conference" starts up. I'm sure most will be showing up atleast a day early.
