I use red Cajun line as backing on both spinning and baitcasting
reels, this way if you are getting to the end of your braid, it
it easy to see. I have had a number of fisherman ask me what it
wrong with the drag on their spinning reel, when they have it cinched down and line still comes off. Invariabley they have filled with braid only. The drag is tight, it is the braid spinning on the arbor of the spool without at least a few turns
of mono to hold it.
