Power Pro on a spinning reel. Held up well to saltwater fishing too. A old timer showed me a neat trick with it. Load your reel up with 30 or so yards of mono, then tie on the braided line. This gave the line some cushionm,and gave me an indicator when I was about to lose the battle on some long runs. The cushion seemed to help stop the braided line from getting embedded on the spool.
That's a good way to save $$ too.
I've been using the PLine pure flourocarbon for the last two years and have had no trouble except for in the beginning with knots breaking. I found that it is really sensitive to heat and just switched primarily to a polomar knot and made sure to wet the line before cinching.
The hybrid flouro/mono lines have given me nothing but trouble.
