I had the water tested for a new pond, and I need to add about 4 tons of lime, can anyone tell me where I can purchase this in and around Greenville Texas??

Check with your county Co-Op . They will send out a spreader truck and back it up to the pond and put it in. If the pond is dry have them spread it around the pond bottom.

Make sure it is Ag lime, not hydrated.
The NRCS guys should be able to help find it.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

bellah - I got mine from Pott's feed store in Quitman, just south of you. This was formerly the co-op that got purcahsed by Pott's.

bellah, sorry to be late in discovering this post. Where are you located in regard to Greenville? Most of Hunt County is "Backland Prairie", and the soils are weathered from Cretaceous limestone, a carbonate geologic formation and I would question the need for lime in your pond. I'm not familiar with the southern extent of Hunt County, but if "Piney Woods" it's a different story.

Hi Bella, I'm watching your thread here because it looks like I'll need to lime too.
Do people do regular water samples to check the acid level on the ponds?
Midwest Dave, 3.5 acre lake, 47 acres timber & CRP.
