DWIED met him and his wife at a NY race track some 25 yrs ago and said they were the nicest, warmest, and most normal people you could ever expect to know.
My Mom met him during the filming of Slap Shot -- which was filmed in my hometown (Johnstown PA). She says the same thing. BTW She got cast as one of the many extras in the movie to fill the seats during the hockey game shots.
