I think the growth is possible given really good forage. A pond with no previous snail eaters could definitely have beau coup for RES to eat.

It's basically having to grow 3" or so per warm season, and I think that's possible under such conditions.

Average growth is not what is experienced with a small number of initial stockers in a saturated forage environment. Remember the world RES record grew in (Santee-Cooper) following a snail population explosion (IIRC).
