How are the trout doing?

I now have browns from a hatchery in Wisconsin. About 50 that average about 1.75 pounds a piece and all males hopefully. Unfortunately the new pond got stirred up by high winds and has some suspended clay. My burlap around the edges is deteriorating and due to the drought the grass never really took off like it should have. Therefore the high wind dug at the pond edges and stirred up some clay.

Oh well next spring the banks will be heavily seeded again and I will put a fresh layer of burlap down around the edges after I drop the water level and then bring it back up. The burlap not only keeps erosion in check as the grass grows and comes up through it but it also keeps the pond edges from being stirred up. Great stuff at about $100.00 per 300 feet by 6 feet!

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
