The three Optima batteries are 4 years old and have always been on the charger when not in use. They still hold 13.75 volts when disconnected from from the charger for a few days. That is how I tell that they are good for another year. When they won't hold at least 12.75 volts it is time to start saving up for replacement. That is my theory, anyway.
The last photo is my original wiring job from 8 years ago. Still in good shape, no corrosion.
