I have seen many post of people looking for flathead catfish to stock in thier ponds. I was searching a list posted by Cecil for Indiana and came across a supplier that I do not recall seeing before. The farm raises flathead catfish for stocking ponds. I thought I would let everyone know that there are suppliers out there and I can send you the number for the farm if anyone wants it.

Flathead are great eating catfish. If I were to raise catfish for eating, this would be the one.
However, I don't think flathead would do very well in a small pond with the usual fish mixture. I bet 1 big one could wipe out most of the big bass in no time.

I stand corrected. They are in Loveland Ohio (Cincinnati area). I contacted the farm and they said they are sold out for the year but said they would be ready for sale next year. She said the prices averages around $1.85 per cat. I know there are numerous pay lakes in southern Ohio that stock only flatheads and blues. I have fished a few of them myself near Cincinnati. I knew they stocked from farms because I asked them at one time. As for my pond I would not stock them because I like bass and bluegills. But there were a few posts a while back from people who wanted a flathead pond so here they are.

Bluecats and flatheads, someone get the defibrillator, I think big_pond is going to need a boost. BP, now that you know where to get the fish, you need to find that lake! Russ

what town, cutover? Good price if on county road, not that great if on easement, etc. I have info on 100 acre "Mill pond" total 205 acres 1.2 million. Awesome place it seems shocking it tuesday.
Most of the pay lakes buy the flatheads from fisherman. It is illegal without commerical license that most do not have but that is source for most pay lakes. They are not in the ponds very long.

The tract is in Crawfordville GA, It is actually 255 acres but I was going to get him to cut me 100 to 200 acres off of it. That 100 acre mill pond where is that located? Washington Co or Jefferson Co? I have heard of this tract for sale I am sure of it!! When you go down there tell me what it is like...You know what I am looking for..
