Our lake has plenty of Readears but no Coppernose. I have access to a few ponds at my grandparents. My plan is to kill off a couple of my grandparents ponds and use them as feeder ponds for new readear genetics and to introduce coppernose and F1 bass.
My question is how do I get started. I know that rotenon will kill the fish, but you need a license to buy it. Where can I find someone to come kill off these ponds? I am in North East Oklahoma.

If you get Pond Boss magazine, check their advertisers and give them a call. I am sure there is somebody in your area. If not, check with you local fish supplier and see if they have somebody that they would recommend.

Yes. a license is required to apply rotenone. Greg Grimes recently ran down the license's training requirement and fee; suffice it to say it was onerous and should serve to avoid any DIY rotenoners. As ezylman noted, PBMag or the website's Resource Guide should be able to hook you up with a pro to handle renovations in NE OK.
