After reading more info on here the past fews days I'm concerned I need more clay on the sides of my pond. Some exposed areas are down to a mixture of sandstone and clay. In the dock area there's very little clay.
At this point the pond is still coming up. We getting near the 4 foot mark now - I'm pleasantly surprised since I have one groundwater source piped directly in at about 2 - 2.5 gpm and just a few very small seeps that I mentioned. We have had some rain but this spot gets very little runoff. Once once in 2 months have I seen any surface runoff - that storm caused some minor flooding in a local town.
I did notice a small seep of water below my dam. Can't say that it's coming from the pond though. The area below the dam seems to be a bit of a "wetland" - always kind of wet and lots of sediment/muck there. When building the dam the excavator built a core about 6 feet below the bottom of the pond and wide enough to run the small dozer into - probably about 8'. He had pretty good clay for this so I hope the seep is coming from elsewhere.
Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed and see what happens.
I could get some clay out of the nearly field if I need to, just not sure I would do it before the Fall.
