11 foot grade 2 rail road ties. Auger 3 feet, push in every 11 feet. Tamp, hard. Use same type rail road ties as horizontal, use 8 inch landscape screws to hold together. Use whatever you wish for the deck. Fish love it! everyone is jealous at how cheap, and how it does NOT wiggle/sway.
