I just pulled up mapquest and finally got to see my new pond from the sky. It was just a big dry hole because it had not filled up when the picture was taken but some of you might be able to see your new ponds that have been built in the last few years.
 The road goes on forever and the party nevers end...............................................

Yep, somewhat updated fer sure. They have the exact same aerial pic from Aug 2006 that I received from my NRCS guy as a strip map. shown as the Aug 2006 aerial shot in this post

Yeah, I check in about every 6 months or so. Latest for me is from Sept '07...pretty cool, except we apparently don't rate the super high resolution given to the QCA, Iowa City, etc. This is on Iowa State's GIS server, so it's limited to Iowa.
In a lifetime, the average driver will honk 15,250 times. My wife figures I'm due to die any day now...

Yup, the newest pic of my property is from June of '06, when I had cleared about a 30' diameter area in the woods. That was back when I didnt even have enough room to turn my backhoe around. Man how time flies

MapQuest has some of the latest imagrey, but their scale is not correct. I had been using mapquest quite often until I made that discovery. Another good site is http://www.yellowpages.com - although I haven't compared the scale on that site yet.

The Yellowpages aerial may blow up the biggest of any on-line aerial I've seen. I can count wheel-barrow loads of manure spread out on our fields with it.

Has anybody tried this one yet?. Live Search Maps I think it has better aerial photos than google. In certain places you use the "bird's eye" view which I find pretty cool.

GIS servers are available for several states although you will have to search the specific state's 'Natural Resources' site (DNR around here).

Anyone realize the flip side to this? It's easier than ever for big brother to keep an eye on you, your property, and anything else related to you. If you've never typed in your name on a Google Search be prepared to be shocked. I found a site that had all the places I've lived and who my closest relatives are.
If this country ever became a dictorship heaven forbid it couldn't be more easier to round people up and take their assets.
