Mine never got hook shy. I guess I hooked each fish 4-5 times. Do use one of the super braided lines, as they have a knack for nipping monofilament line. They finally died from cold last December, and I have no way to grow more out this year. I really miss those little monsters. When they were feeling spunky, they would swim high and leave a pretty good wake telling other fish to back off.
