DonJovi: I thought similar at the beginning since I have been around same phenomena. Feeder stream comes right out of limestone too. However, I know this sounds wierd, but it seems like you can tell the difference between a green color influenced by inert things like rocks, iron, etc. and something "living" in your water. Hard to explain. But it looks like the nice green color in the beginning gave way to an alien being living in the pond in the form of something dark slimy green.
