Thoughts on this thread.
First -- Dwight does work from home some - he even has the barge rigged to work from.
Second -- all of us self-employed folks work from all different places and never seem to get time off cause the boss is looking at us in the mirror.
Speaking of mirrors -- I think we all sound like clones with the same reflection in different places. Pond nuts all.

Now that it has been explained to me, I understand that I am not alone working 12 hour days and feeling like I'm not getting much accomplished. No matter the distractions I would still rather be here than working for the big corporation I used to work for. This is way more fun!

My bad. I apologize if I appeared overbearing. The way I see it I could be making more money but I have more freedom than I do if I was working for someone else.

Cecil, It is a personal preference balancing act. I think you and I, and a lot of others on the forum enjoy our freedom enough that we will never be rich in money. We are, however, exceedingly rich in family, friends, land and water, fish and wild life, and the time to enjoy them. These are the "things" that make us who we are.

Well said Dwight, well said.
I too am self employed and really enjoy my freedom as well.

Even if I don't make "smart moves constantly," I know I made at least one!

My "smart moves" either drive my wife crazy or involve her nursing skills

My "smart moves" either drive my wife crazy or involve her nursing skills I resemble that remark also.

I figured out how to get the pictures off of my phone. Here is where we went to eat while the professor went and picked up the other generator.

OK, we need a ruling from Principal Sunil... Can this be construed as a field trip?

I feel that this is a commentary on the status of our educational institutions as it may relate to the presence, or lack thereof, of young women in technical fields of study.
Had there been a stronger participation of young women in Chris's class, such a lunch stop would not have occurred.
Young Man, please strive to elevate your mind from the gutter. Perhaps your time would have been better spent by getting a quick sandwich at Sheetz (or Country Market), and then spending the rest of your "break" on your studies.
If you want to find young ladies of like mind, then the Library, Young Man, is where you should be spending more time.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

We actually have two girls( and 6 guys) in this class. They said it was fine to go there.

Ok, either:
A. Sunil is pulling your leg
B. I woke up in a alternate universe where everything is opposite of what it usually is. (Bizarro World). I would expect in this universe that Bruce will hate Blue Gills and intentionally raise stunted onces, Theo's IQ will be in the low double digits and he will easily be amused by a piece of yarn, Brettski will have converted Liberty Preserve to a nuclear testing facility, Ewest will only quote from the supermarket tabloids such as The National Enquirer, Sun and Star, GW will create a highly toxic pesticide to rid the world of Black Soldier Flies, DIED will have traded his rock collection for a bouquet of cut flowers, etc, etc.
C. I have completely misjudged Sunil and he is an incredibly complex party animal yet with extremely high morals when it comes to cleavage.
It's too early in the morning for me to judge which is the correct choice.

Note for young, single men: "It's fine" means "It is NOT fine and I will hold this against you." That sir is some of the best advice that I have ever seen (saw, seed - why can I never get that straight?) posted on pond boss. I was an old married man before I was able to grasp that concept and even now I miss the warning signs.

Hey Chris, any port in a storm. Sometimes you just gotta tough it out.
Good advice here re the fair sex. A bunch of years ago, when I was engaged to my now child bride, I told a friend that I was about to leave on an elk hunt. He asked if Charlene was going with me. Nope I said. He asked how long I figured she would put up with my ramblings. I laughingly told him that I figured I could get away with it until we tied the knot. I was right.

Reminds me of my favorite Lee Trevino quote - "my wife doesn't care what I do as long as I don't enjoy myself".......

That man Theo...he gives some great advice.
Chris, here's my take:
1- Either those girls were being serious and they really do enjoy the scenery at the restaraunt of choice (which is all I'll say about that); OR
2- You should take the pointer from Theo. Not only does "it's fine" mean "it's not fine," but "go ahead" means "we'll see if you're stupid enough to do it. If you are, you deserve what's coming." I learned both of these the hard way.
