LBuck - Anytime natural water is transferred from one water body to another there is risk of introducing unwanted algae or plant species. This chance introduction includes putting fish hatchery water into your pond / lake which I do not approve of esp if the pond is to be used for a domestic water source. "Moving water around" without knowing what is in it is basically like playing roulette; where you often lose. My job is to know what is in water. Your point of unwanted introductions is why I mentioned to TyW that his zooplankton collections should be examined with a microscope for unwanted species before they are added to his pond.
I am still doing homework and literature searches for the bgill harvest topic. It looks like it will be another several days before get something finished
