You might want to look into Aquaponics or Barrelponics is another version. It would work well with the Talapia you already have. Not using the pond but growing them out and balancing that with plants. Its about using the filtered fish water to grow veggies in and returning the cleaned water to the fish ponds (tank or whatever) in a recirculating system using very little replacement water and providing a controlled system.
The fish create Nitrogen? and the plants use it leaving clean water for growing fish
