My experiecne with white styrofoam in ponds is it does not hold up well to weathering. Lack of winter in TX may help the white styrofoam to persit in your application. Since you have the foam completely covered from sunlight that may lengthen its aging for you. PLease keep us advised about how well it holds up as time passes.
