For the last 6 months I've been catching catfish and large mouth bass with bumps all over them. It looks like they're broken out with acne. The pond is 8-9 acres with bass, channel and blue cats, and 3 strains of bluegill. I stocked 190lbs. of minnows with the bluegill and channels in March 2006. 6 months later I stocked the bass and blues. I feed them from March to November and the bass and catfish hit the food pretty hard. The water has never been real clear but got much worse after record flooding in June of 07.

Any ideas?

Can you post any pics of the bumps/sores?

Having a visual will help everyone i.d. what is going on.

Without knowing more, a basic guess might be parasites.

I finally got a picture. What do you guys think this is, and is there a cure? Thanks.

I can't see your photo. Does it look like this?

Do you have snails in the pond?

There's no snails that I can find, but that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't there. But I did put in 1500 redear (shell crackers) to control snails.

Your picture looks like the fish has eggs on it. My fish look like they have a bunch of zits, for lack of a better term.

Here's the link to the picture.

Placebo, I'm getting a forbidden (403) error on that link.

I did see the picture earlier (over the weekend), but it isn't showing above for me either right now.

I've never been able to see the pictures. I even tried to add the [IMG] things and I couldn't get it to come up.

Have you cleaned(skinned) one of the fish to see what is on the other side of the skin?

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

No, I haven't skinned one. I'll do that next time I catch one.

Anyone have an idea of what it is?

That I haven't seen before.

Did someone catch that CC, handle it, and release it while they had chicken pox?
