Heybud That's cool. I use to hunt them back in the day. Kinda gets your blood flowing when you shine a mirrow under an old house or rock and you see hundreds of them all piled in the den.

That's neat. Not much bigger adrenalin rush than walking around and stepping on something squishy that you just know ain't cow poop. When the rattling starts, I can Houdini up an invisible rope to an amazing height. Unless they are around the house, barn, or ponds, I no longer molest them.

Years ago, I annually hunted in the Sweetwater(Texas) Rattlesnake Roundup but couldn't match the locals. You find out pretty quickly that snakeproof boots don't allow you to move quickly enough to overcome the effects of Budweiser.

Those rattlers are too sweet. If someone woke me up in the middle of hibernation, I think I would bite.

Is there anything like that on PEI? I see a fair number of buzztails but I'm used to seeing them. I'll never get used to stepping on them or even coming close. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of an island that grows potatos.

That's pretty common, DD: Prince Edward Island, Ireland, Idaho.

Heck Theo, the only islands I usually think of are Carribean. No spuds there. The land is too valuable for growing marijuana.

Nope... nothing like that up here.

Actually PEI is pretty neat in that regard. No poison snakes, spiders, no fire ants, ... no dangerous animals at all.

Unfortunately there is also no big game at all (except mosquitos). Ruffed grouse and rabbit is the only hunting. A few coyotes have made it across the ice, but the farmers are doing their best to, ummm, peacefully convince them to return to the mainland.

The farming thing baffles me as well. Although with only 130k people and over 1/2 of that in 1 town, the island is very under populated. Eventually it will probably look like Taiwan, but I will enjoy it while I can.
