gentlemen,i did the google search and if this is the fish you caught we call these fish goggly-eye in louisiana.very common fish in the south,all most as common as the bream.they are every were down here,and not a good fish to have in a small pond.has a large mouth and will eat the same things a bass eats.they just dont get as big as bass,i would say a large goggle-eye gets to about hand size.late in the evening you can hear them pop at the suface of the water getting bugs if you have alot of them.it is a very good eating fish,and alot of fun to catch.he will hit anything a bream would eat and you can also catch them on small to medium size bass baits.i've heard other people call them warmouth but to us it's a goggle-eye.
