Well here goes, Can you use the metal stock tanks used for watering cows? I have 2 Small ones around 200gal. and was going to put one in the basement and then use a 30 gal plastic barrel for a filter system to trickle back into the 200gal stock tank.

Oh, Yeah. For starters, see Cecil Envy then Tilapia Grow-Out Tank and Redneck Aquaculture, and, finally, the Jan-Feb 2007 issue of PBMag. Some of the guys with more recent info on small, filtered systems will hopefully post their links too.

How about RR or Fathead minnows in this project insted of game fish? Would it be posible to get them to spawn with right tems and sun shining on the tank. I would rather try this then game fish. any thoughts?

If the fish are in good condition , adults and you can provide the right temp and photoperiod it will work. Some species require a period of cold temps to become productive.

Fatheads and rosey reds do not require a cold period to develop and lay eggs.
