I'm not a norther pond owner but the answer is simple.
Unless you have a
BIG POND you will eventually end up with 1 or 2 fish in your pond!
As you get older it's easier to accept that you simply can not have
all your wants.
It would truly be wonderful if I could have the mighty musky in my pond!
Life is all about compromises, trade-offs,
choices.
You can have your muskies so long as you are willing to
feed them (read constantly restock) their forage.
