is there anythin wrong with northern pike besides they eat a lot.

My short list of negatives:
-You already know they eat alot and thus you would be able to support very few of them
-Pound for Pound they are NOT the greatest fighters
-They stink... literally... their slim coating stinks
-Can wreck havoc on lures with their sharp teeth... assuming they don't get wise to lure presentation quickly
Is there a reason you are interested in Northern Pike as your predator of choice?

Don't forget they like the larger fish vs. the smaller ones for prey which are the same ones you are interested in keeping.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

thanx for your opinions....i was going to stock them because i thought they fought pretty hard but i guess not.....what kinds of fish do u think are good fighters but are not that aggressive pottsy?

Josh - In your situation stick with largemouth or smallmouth bass but not both. With largemouth you could add a few hybrid striped bass per acre. In your area get your fish from Laggis Fish Farm, Gobbles MI.

Hey Josh, don't get me wrong, larger Northerns are good fighters... but Small or Largemouth bass are better. More suitable to small bodies of water and easier to manage.
