And why when they are doing their stocking and making regulations pertaining to seasons, catch limits etc, they are being careful not to mix the different strains.We have a new hatchery dedicated to replentishing the local strain and stocking certain lakes. Other lakes are "put, grow and take" These get stocked with the great lakes strain and are open to fishing all year.
