this my not help right now but plan on stocking a 35 acre lake just south of Evansville, IN in June with F1's.

Greg,
Are the southern Calif. largemouths that reach the massive proportions in their reservoirs F1's are pure Floridas? I have seen literature that says they are F1's and some that says they are Floridas. They must be somewhat coolwater tolerant as they say they feed on planted rainbow trout.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

From Central Missouri - I have a two year old, two acre pond that is full of forage fish that I have been feeding Game-fish-chow(fatheads, shiners, and bluegill).
I am planning to stock native northern bass this spring, but I also plan to add about a dozen F1's to compare growth rates. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on a way to mark the fish so I can tell the species apart? If I clip a fin, will the mark be obvious several years later?
Is it possible to cage raise bass for several years?
Any comments are greatly appreciated!

Cecil not really sure but see your point, sorry. You can clip the fin but not on a fingerling bass. THey will last a year and if you catch one reclip fin. The bass will be tough in cages unless already trained on pellets.

I have a one acre pond that I'm trying to make a little fishing hot spot and I'm very interested in F1 bass. I live a little north east of Evansville, IN in Seymour. I stalked 350 BG, 150 RE, 1000 fatheads, and 100 c-cat early this spring from my local fishery. I will be stocking some bass next year. What do you think about some F1 bass for what I've got?

We stocked the lake in Sebree KY with 650 f1 and 600 pure northern. I can let you know how they are doing later this year. Also see if there is any dieoff in the cold winter months. This mix may be a good idea that way you get a little less FLA influcence in genetics that might help survive cooler winters.
