So you're not really changing servers in the computer sense, right? You're changing servers in the cocktail waitress sense.

Sunil, 17oz Hansa Space Shuttles sound like something I would like to try. Send me a case and I will give you a full report and place the empty bottles on Corona Reef with your name Sharpied on the side of each one. I imagine that you have been watching the 48 hour Twilight Zone marathon on the SIFI channel as you slave away at your moderator duties.

Bruce, Who's that in the picture and what is the significance of "I love lamp?" Is his name lamp? Once again I'm missing something here.

His name is Brick Tamland and he was a character in the movie "Anchorman". If you saw the movie you'd understand why he cracks me up so much. I think I may have to change my avatar back since I'll bet nobody here has seen the movie. Brick is in a conversation with three other characters trying to decide what "love" really is. Brick is not too bright. He looks around the room and whatever he happens to see he says "I love (blank)" Here's the clip... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnGvLSBL20g

Cecil, you don't have to know. Just get one of these and everyone will understand how cool a guy you really are! Lamp Love

Brick also killed a dude with a trident.

That's also true. Ron Burgundy goes on to suggest that Brick "lay low" for awhile.

Brick also killed a dude with a trident. The first time I read that I interpretted it as " Bruce also killed a dude with a trident." It was just one more reason to be envious of Condello's fishing escapades.

My problem with the trident is that FatMcB injured my left achilles tendon at the Pond Boss Conference, and now the trident has a fade to the right that I can't seem to correct.

Well...it's not "fixed" just yet. Took 4 attempts to login over several hours, and just now finally got on.
I'll try back next week, if I remember....

My problem is exactly the same as Cecil's. I also have difficulty signing on.
I realize that I'm just an ignorant fish guy, but I'm not sure what this has to do with dedicated servers.
...and why did the site work fine for a while at the beginning, and then a couple of weeks ago. I can't imagine it has anything to do with the traffic, but, like I said before, what do I know? I hate to say "I told me so", but the site isn't functioning any better for me on the new dedicated server.

I agree with Bruce. AS of Thur eve 9:15pm, I am having basically the same problems as previously. Are we completely positive that the problem was with the server and not software related?

I concur with Bruce and Bill. The problems remain. I also have a new issue to add to the list. I cannot log out of the forum when using the Firefox browser. I can log in and out with Internet Explorer. But, then when I return to Firefox I am still logged in. A can of worms.....
Oh well, I am going to forget about it all until after my foot is put through the surgery grinder machine in the morning.....

I'll let you know as soon as I try and post this post. If it says I already posted it after clicking a second time with no response I'll let you know. If I don't come back that's bad too. Note: Hey it worked!

It is definately an issue with the forum software. The server is fine. With better forum software you would have been fine on the "shared server" account you had before. Ubbthreads is not the best. There are a lot of better alternatives. Most of the more popular open source ones will even include nice conversion scripts that will help to preserve the posts that already exist in your current database. A better alternative might be http://www.simplemachines.org

Yeah, I have not been to this site much in the last month or so because the forum is a little frustrating trying to access it. My brain is a little slow but I just realized Firefox does not work at all once you TRY to login and IE works okay.

Good deal. The forum seems for me to be running very good now - back to its original self. Are others getting quick responses?

Things do seem better, if not perfect, today. I have been using the bag of tricks we have accumulated and it has been enough to keep me on the forum so far.

Not for me. Very touch & go.
I feel bad for those who can't even log on to read granted theres not as much to read 'cause so many can't log on.
