Weird question I suppose, hopefully this isn't too far off topic.
There are no turtles found locally and I would love to introduce some into my pond. 1/3 acre and over 10' deep.
I'm at fairly high elevation, and the pond will have thick ice on it from mid October through to April/May...
I believe red eared sliders will die with that long a hibernation period. Painted turtles are hardy but illegal to catch and impossible to purchase...
I'd love to hear any ideas you may have. Thanks for any help!

This has come up before. I believe that the consensus of opinion was that, if they don't occur naturally there, there is a good reason. Survival would be doubtful.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
