Weird question I suppose, hopefully this isn't too far off topic. There are no turtles found locally and I would love to introduce some into my pond. 1/3 acre and over 10' deep.
I'm at fairly high elevation, and the pond will have thick ice on it from mid October through to April/May...
I believe red eared sliders will die with that long a hibernation period. Painted turtles are hardy but illegal to catch and impossible to purchase...
I'd love to hear any ideas you may have. Thanks for any help!
