Yep, smaller than 3"; I added the predators with some regrets as this pond is where we usually caught bait-we could catch 20-50 1.5-3" degenerates in a few minutes with #16 hooks and a little piece of Power Worm. But the owner was serious about getting rid of the biters, and was talking rotenone.
As ewest noted, you've got some great predatory options that many of us further down south don't have-it'll be interesting to see what you decide to do.
