Anyone have any info on Redbreast Bream? In particular a producer in Georgia has what they call a Golden Redbreast. I currently have Georgia Giants(don't ask it will only start a arguement), coppernose and redear. Would adding some adults of these help my pond?

I don't think it will hurt much. Just be another thing to catch and have fun with.

I don't think the Redbreast would help much Bill, but also don't think they would hurt. The golden redbreast are pretty cool. I have sold some to ornamental pond folks. I guess you mean Owen and WIlliams? They are the ones who started them. I saw the first ones they got back in school in 1996. Be warned the herons love 'em b/c they are so easy to see.

Greg,
I know about the redbreast sunfish. What is the difference on these? What does golden have to do with it? A hybrid, color variation or what?
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Not sure what he has done to produce these "golden" redbreast. He apparently selectedsome color variation and bred them. They are very pale in color, almost white. They are cool looking fish. I can ask when down next week to pickup fish how he did it. If I ever get my digitial camera fixed I will take a picture.

I called in an order of fish to Owen and Williams and asked them about the Golden Redbreast. They will be ready for pickup soon they are 1 inchers right now. They are just a color variation and they have the DNA of pure river redbreast so their offspring my look like a normal redbreast. Hope this helps Cecil.
