One more thing. Very carefully look at the bluegills that you are putting in. MAKE SURE THEY ARE ALL BLUEGILL! A very common thing is for someone gathering fish from the wild, not to be careful and they introduce green sunfish or pumpkinseeds -- which you don't want.
In fact, it can get tricky in that there are hybrids of bluegills X pumpkinseeds or bluegills X green sunfish out there that look almost identical to pure bluegills. Adults should be easier to differentiate.
